The RPL process is a recognised way of issuing qualifications. The qualification you are awarded is suitable for membership with either the FBAA or MFAA as it is a nationally recognised qualification.

Before you enrol in any Certificate IV Financial Services (Mortgage Broking) courses, ask yourself these two questions:

1. Do you have somebody who can vouch for your knowledge and skills?

2. Do you have two years experience (or more) as a finance/mortgage  broker or loan writer or in the industry?

If you answered YES, then you may be eligible to get your Certificate IV qualification issued to you without having to go to a finance/mortgage broker course or do online study - and with no exams!

HOW DO I GET THE QUALIFICATION WITHOUT DOING A COURSE?

By applying for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).  We have developed a simple 3 step process which recognises your years of hard won experience and knowledge and applies this to the requirements of the Certificate IV Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking). Find out how on the next page!

CAN I FAIL AT THIS?

RPL is not a pass or fail process!  If you have the experience, it is a matter of us working with you in order to assist you provide the evidence we need in order to issue the qualification. As long as you have been finance/mortgage broking for two years then you should have gained sufficient experience/knowledge/skills equivalent to the Certificate requirements.

OK - WHAT IS THE PROCESS?

STEP 1

  • Enrol in the RPL process for only $495. You can enrol via this website or call us on 1300 735 082. You will then be sent instructions and checklists Each module in the Cert iV has only one checklist - which covers your competency and your skill. There is also a client case file that you complete (minus personal details).
  • This is fairly simple, we just need a completed loan application case file containing all the usual stuff you would expect to see in a client file associated with the loan app.

STEP 2

  • Ask an experienced colleague or supervisor to take you through the checklist forms you have been provided. This could be a finance/mortgage broker that you know, a BDM or anyone with finance broking experience - as long as they know you and your experience.

HANDY HINT - Your Declarer is someone who knows you and your experience - but does not necessarily have to be Certificate IV qualified themselves.

STEP 3

  • Send your completed forms in to us via post.
  • Please include your resume and three business references.
  • Once we have completed your assessment and you are successful we will mail you your Certificate!
