The Advanced Course in Mortgage Planning has been specifically developed to enable existing Mortgage Brokers extend the services they offer to their clients and increase potential revenue streams.
This course will teach you advanced financial skills in areas such as Cash Management, Loan Structuring, Credit Management, Cash Flow & Budgeting, Real Estate and Residential Property Investment.
This course will provide mortgage professionals with the skills and expertise to become regarded as a Mortgage Planner as opposed to simply a Mortgage Broker.
As a Mortgage Planner you're equipped to offer a more comprehensive and long term service to clients, and to clearly differentiate yourself from other brokers and direct lenders.
Ultimately this will lead to increased revenue through improved client retention, increased referrals and the ability to charge fees for service.
"It's important to note that a Mortgage Planner is NOT a Financial Planner, however is as close to being one without falling under the Australian Financial Services Licencing requirements."
Who is this course for?
This course is designed for brokers who already hold a minimum of a Certificate IV in Financial Services (Finance/Mortgage Broking) and wish to operate as a mortgage broker, but also provide a more comprehensive range of services.
The course is not designed for students who wish to provide financial advice. In order to provide financial advice students need to meet ASIC RG146 requirements (e.g. the Diploma of Financial Services (Financial Planning) FNS 50804).
What are the benefits of attending?
- Increase revenue per client
- Develop a stream of ongoing revenue
- Differentiate yourself from other brokers
- Differentiate yourself from lenders
- Help clients build wealth & financial literacy
- Obtain CPD Points
Accreditation
This course is not currently a nationally accredited or recognised VET course (like a Certificate or Diploma is), but nor is it required to be.
The course has been developed in line with the format we use for our Certificate IV and Diploma courses and is assessed accordingly.
Upon receiving a 'Competent' status, participants will receive a certificate of accreditation for the "Advanced Course in Mortgage Planning".
CPD Points
Different industry bodies have individual criteria for the awarding of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points.
Based on their respective criteria (posted on their websites) we believe this course will provide 12 CPD points for the Finance Brokers Association of Australia (FBAA) and 12 CPD points for the Mortgage & Finance Association of Australia (MFAA). Formal confirmation of these amounts is being sought from the relevant bodies.
It is expected that CPD points will also be available for Financial Planners who are members of the Financial Planning Association (FPA) and/or the Association of Financial Advisers (AFA).
